1. sit tight
當有人跟你說「坐緊」，指要耐心的等待，先不要輕舉妄動，或是固執己見，堅持自己的主張
耐心等待：You sit tight, and I’ll go get help.
固執己見：My parents tried to persuade me not to marry her, but I sat tight.

2. pitch in
當你說「丟到裡面」，指的是同心協力
If we all pitch in together, it shouldn't take too long.

3. face the music
當你說「面向音樂」，意思就是面對現實或接受懲罰
: There is no way you can stay out of this. You have to face the music.
: I know, but I don't have the guts.

4. go cold turkey
當你說「去冷火雞」，指「忽然」戒掉某個不良習慣，例如：抽菸或者喝酒
.
據說go cold turkey源自20世紀初期，指當戒除某個成癮的習慣所帶來的不適症狀。例如：毒品或者酒精成癮，戒除的過程會有許多身體發冷、不適的感覺，就像是生冷的火雞肉ㄧ樣，皮膚慘白，冒出雞皮疙瘩等等的症狀
